🔥 San Juan Night — 23 June, on Fontanilla beach
Bonfires lit along the sand at sunset. White clothes (a purifying tradition — and the reason white parties exist at all). At midnight, you step backwards into the sea and wait for seven waves to embrace you. One wish per wave, or all seven for the same one. Write the wish on a piece of paper, throw it into the fire.
Espetos all night. Fireworks over the water.
You won't find this in any other Mediterranean town quite the same way. Skol is two minutes from where it happens — no taxi, no parking, no missing the moment.

🎵 Starlite Festival — opens 19 June
The open-air festival in Marbella's old marble quarry. Natural rock walls, summer sky, international line-up running through August. Easy from town — we'll point you to the best taxi spots and dinner before, and we have late check-ins for the nights you stumble back at 2am.

🐟 Sardine espeto season — peak now
The bamboo skewers, the wood fires built into beached fishing boats, the salt and the lemon. It's the most Marbella thing you can eat, and June and July are when the sardines are at their best. Most of the chiringuitos on the Paseo Marítimo do them — walk along, follow the smoke.
Locals will tell you El Cordobes in the Old Town or El Sombrero on Fontanilla Beach. More on Where To Eat in Marbella
👨👩👧 Families — kids' pool (40cm), Fontanilla beach two minutes from the door, San Juan beach bonfires built for first magical-summer-night memories. Sea warm enough to swim from breakfast onwards.
💻 Digital nomads & remote workers — fibre WiFi, sea-view terraces to work from, Starlite evenings on the weekends, espeto lunches that don't quite end. Check The 10 best digital-nomad cafés in Marbella if you fancy a change of scenery.
🌿 Wellness seekers— sea swims before the heat, slow mornings on the terrace, the kind of week that resets you. The Sierra Blanca trails are still hikeable early mornings or late evenings before July gets too hot.
